Drone Racing Championships
The brief:
INP Media were commissioned to produce two pilot episodes for BlackBlade a Chinese drone racing league in Shanghai. We were also required to produce all graphics, animation and social media promos for the show.
Our challenge:
There were multiple challenges with this production. On the production side we needed to create a programme concept from scratch that was exciting, compelling and adrenalin fuelled for a young audience. From a filming perspective filming small drones at night that can travel at 100mph has a number of challenges, then combine this with the complications and processes of working in China with local presenters some that didn’t speak English was a formidable test.
Our solution:
Having worked around the world for many years for a number of clients and having worked in China on a number of occasions, we used our network of fixers, translators, camera and production crew to build a reliable and multilingual team.
Combining this team with incredible producers, directors and our in-house editors from the UK we managed to create a unique format for the show and the final result although a huge task was a success with a new series now being commissioned.
