Coast to Coast
The brief:
INP Media were commissioned to produce a film and photography that would capture a unique challenge that had never been attempted before.
Mercedes-Benz were attempting to drive across Great Britain from coast to coast without using public roads. Over 2 days and 65 miles of rough terrain they would be taking a small group of Mercedes-Benz off roaders to see if it was possible.
Our challenge:
Trying to capture stunning content when chasing a convoy of cars that only stops twice a day isn’t easy. Rough off road terrain, a variety of weather fronts and shooting through the night also posed major hurdles. Combine this with no recce time, a tight turnaround for the edit, plus limited space for crew we knew this would be a challenging shoot, but none the less we were confident we could create something special.
Our solution:
Preparation was key. Using multiple cameras, including in car and drone plus some hairy driving skills and a talented multi tasking crew we were able to capture stunning content that followed the cars as they made their historical journey crossing Great Britain from one side to the other.
