Need For Speed: Capturing The McLaren GT Race Series

February 27th, 2018 by George Derrick

To boost driving skills and promote the sheer enjoyment of high-performance behind the wheel, McLaren offers an incredible official track driving programme, Pure McLaren, complete with a team of expert McLaren Driver Coaches. Using some of the finest race tracks in the world, Pure McLaren is a comprehensive programme offering expert guidance to maximise its owners’ driving potential and improve their driving performance.
While Pure McLaren has been offering unforgettable experiences for many years, 2018 sees the launch of a new event, the GT Race Series. This new Series introduces a competitive element, offering experienced track drivers an opportunity to pit their driving skills against each other in a single-make race. Using the McLaren 570S GT4, competitors can hone their driving skills and then compete to show their racing credentials.
To enhance the GT Race Series, McLaren is also creating a racing calendar for their own drivers, which INP Media will be filming. The famous tracks include Spa-Francorchamps, Valencia, Portimao, Paul Ricard, Hockenheim and Silverstone, and INP Media will be at each venue to shoot the races and film the exciting series throughout the year.

Filming The Prestigious Laureus World Sports Awards Monaco 2018

February 20th, 2018 by George Derrick

INP Media is proud to have been commissioned for the eighth consecutive year to film the world-famous Laureus World Sports Awards, a star-studded awards ceremony taking place in glamorous Monaco on the 27th February.
The ceremony will commemorate some of the biggest and best sportspeople, teams and events. The 2018 nominations look to be hotly contested with nominees including Roger Federer, Mo Farah, Allyson Felix, the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 team, Valentino Rossi and FC Barcelona. The event itself is set to be exciting and impressive for all involved, and the INP Media team will be there to cover the whole spectacle.
Hosting the event is the brilliant actor, Benedict Cumberbatch. He is well-known to the INP Media team as we have filmed him on a number of other occasions, including at the Laureus World Sports Awards in Shanghai in 2014, and an interview for Behind The Scenes GQ Best Dressed Man in 2015. More recently, we filmed Benedict in London where he visited the Active Communities Network programme (https://vimeo.com/254587084).
At the event on the 27th of February, our team will be working hard to capture all the highlights, covering the red-carpet entrances as well as interviewing the sports stars, nominees and celebrities attending this star-studded event. Furthermore, we will also capture the visits for the projects associated with the Laureus World Sports Awards such as the Play International Alliance Riviera Nice, a multi-functional sporting venue.
To get ready for the event, you can watch last year’s award ceremony highlights here (https://vimeo.com/256044870). To get well acquainted with the nominees, you can view our official nomination video for the event. To give the video compelling, dramatic graphics, we used an effect called puppeteering, a way of manipulating still images so that they appear moving; this technique has been really effective in making the nominees come to life.  We cannot wait to film this exciting event and wish all of the nominees good luck in their respective awards.

First Award Nomination of 2018!

February 12th, 2018 by George Derrick

Just over a month into 2018 and we are thrilled to already have been nominated for an award. Our short film entitled ‘Anything’ is a video of a poem with the same name being performed by its author, an incredible 11-year-old poet, Tofi Sobodu.
The nomination is for the Delete TV Video Art Prize which is broadcast in Austria, screened across Europe and streamed worldwide. The award celebrates experimental short films and art collaborations that highlight contemporary issues, intercultural exchange and visibility. A panel of filmmakers and artists will choose the winner, whose trophy will be a piece of art created by an internationally renowned artist.
Had it not been for circumstance, we may have never have met Tofi nor filmed such a beautiful performance of poem triumphing positivity and inspiration. Initially, the INP Media team were shooting a piece in an East London boxing gym, Fight For Peace. As we were asking Fight For Peace members about their experiences at the gym, we encountered Tofi, an engaging 11-year-old boy who told us he was a poet and instantly impressed with some of his spoken word.
Fascinated by his talent, observations and flair for performance, we knew that his art needed to be captured on camera. We felt a film honouring his work and eloquence was a fitting tribute to his creativity and an excellent opportunity to merge two art forms together.

Ahead of hosting the Laureus Awards in Monaco on February 27, Benedict Cumberbatch – the star of Sherlock, The Imitation Game and Dr Strange – visited the Laureus-supported Active Communities Network programme in South London on February 6.

Dynamic Rebrand

February 6th, 2018 by George Derrick

For 12 years INP Media has been creating dynamic, exciting and unique media content for its customers. Now is the time for a rebrand to showcase our potential and highlight our position as one of the most innovative film and video production companies in the field.
We enlisted the help of design agency straightedge, a company that shares INP Media’s vision – to create compelling content that gives our clients a clear edge. The straightedge team worked with our branding team to create a relevant logo as well as providing our website with a vital refresh to make it as dynamic and distinctive as our work.

Our logo

It was important to us that straightedge understood precisely what the drivers were behind our work and how we operate as a team. Our focus on unique, high-quality content meant that we did not want a brand logo that was subtle or indifferent; it needed to make an initial impact and a lasting impression.

Gold Rush!

February 1st, 2018 by George Derrick

Just One Take: Shooting A £10 Million Gold Rush Adventure

Filming a dramatic Porsche cross-London shipment of £10 million worth of gold.
We are always excited to be offered the opportunity to create a ground-breaking production, and a recent project with Porsche was undoubtedly a special operation designed to push our crews to the limits.

The task

On behalf of the prestigious gold refiners Baird and Co. Porsche were given the job of transporting 24 gold bars with an approximate value of £10 million from a discreet East London refinery to a brand-new Hatton Gardens showroom.
Security, speed and load-bearing were the vital ingredients that made the Porsche Panamera Turbo Sport Turismo the best vehicle for the job.
With such a high-value cargo being transported, Porsche was faced with some serious challenges. Three vehicles were involved, with each Porsche Panamera having to hold four people; a driver, radio operator and two specialist security guards. As well as this, each car had to be capable of carrying two bespoke gold bullion crates, together weighing over 60kgs.
